Epilepsy California was created through the collaborative efforts of the three Epilepsy Foundations in California—the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County, the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles, and the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California. Epilepsy California was created to be the recognized, unified voice of the 400,000 to 500,000 people with epilepsy and seizure disorders throughout the state of California. Epilepsy California works to protect the rights of people affected by epilepsy and we ask that you join this growing grassroots movement. This grassroots effort is composed of people with epilepsy and their family members, volunteers, medical professionals and service providers. Working together we can make real change happen and we can improve the lives of individuals with epilepsy and their families.
Senate Bill 1051 will allow public school teachers and other staff to volunteer to administer Diastat® in emergency situations. As of now, there are no immediate steps other than staying tuned to the issue and connected to your local Epilepsy Foundation. Thank you to the hundreds of state-wide epilepsy advocates for your support. For more information about SB 1051, please click here.
